Orchid Show on Video
Story
This was the 2012 Frankfurt Orchid show at the PalmenGarten in Frankfurt.
I have to admit, I know very little about flowers. However, my wife wanted to visit this show.
I realized why people like orchids so much. Under the right conditions, they bloom. But the bloom often looks like a miniature person. It is as if the ‘soul’ of the plant has come out to visit the world and is sitting outside the plant instead of inside of it.
If you watch the video carefully, you will see their little ‘faces’.
It is notoriously hard for people to get their orchids to bloom at home. The ones that you see for sale and in shows have been grown in carefully planned greenhouse environments. It is very difficult for people to get their plants to bloom at home. But they try and some will succeed… The story of orchids.
