Working Late Again?

August 14, 2012 by Dave

wokring late again? Does it seem like you can not avoid working late?

I know that feeling.  It is a punishing kind of existence.

We work late and then we have to get up early.

This is damaging on so many levels.  Our bodies don’t get a chance to rebuild properly.  Our minds don’t get a chance to relax properly.

We work all day and then again at night.

Why do we do that?

Are we just trying to earn a few extra dollars or take our  business to the next level?

I’ll be the first to admit. I’m no expert on relaxing.   I work hard and  then some.  It is really too much.

Often times, I feel that the results are not what they should be.    But the truth is,  not all of us can be super successful.  And hard work or lack thereof is not usually the reason we are not as successful as we want to be.

We have to find our place in life and realize that is pretty much where we are likely to stay.

But no one is content with that frame of mind!  Instead, we are always looking for the next thing we can do to ‘improve’ our lives.

The sad thing is that we always think that improvement comes from earning more money.  That is a mental trap that is very easy to fall into it.

When We Are Trapped

When we are trapped in the mental state of always looking for ways to make money or thinking that we must work harder at what we already do, we deaden a part of our own souls.

Embrace change, embrace shifts in your mental state.   You may open up new horizons in your own awareness.

Perhaps money won’t be so important then.

But the truth is,  this is not so easy to do.   And achieving that state is not the end to your problems anyway!

There will be new things that you worry about.   You see, the human brain is wired to worry about things.

Don’t believe me?  Examine your own thinking for a day or two.   Pay attention to what your mind ‘dwells’ on.

If you don’t have an immediate problem to solve,  your mind will find a future problem (that may not even happen) to worry about!

Is There A Way Out?

When you think about it, there is really something incredibly insane about it all.   We really cannot stop worrying over one thing or another, can we?

Our minds are trapped in a kind of prison when you really think about it.

If we don’t worry about our own lives, we worry about our spouse or friends or children.

Is there no way out?

What I am going to suggest to you is that you read the book Zhuan Falun (available in most languages) and look at the meditation practice of Falun Dafa

Maybe your thinking can open up a little bit.  Maybe you can change in a really positive way.
Change Is Necessary

If you are working late again.   If you are always worried about something, perhaps it is time for a shift in perspective.

When this life is over, everything we physically gained, all of our achievements,  all of our worries are for naught at the point of our death.

So, what are we really doing in this world?     Do you want to get to the end and walk away with nothing?  Or, would you rather start to build something for yourself that will go with you after death?

The answer is obvious,  the only question is,  do you really get it?   Or is this just one more idea that will float right out of your mind while you start to worry about the next thing.

Working late,  worrying,  what does it really get us in the end?

PS.  if you really are on on that treadmill called the ‘rat race’ or you realize just how worried you are about everything under the sun, then  check out Falun Dafa.   It could be the game changer you have been looking for.

Socrates, The Greatest Philosopher of All Time?

July 30, 2012 by Dave

Was Socrates a great Western PhilosopherI read someone’s point of view about Socrates. She claimed the Socrates was someone who bullied a lot of people. I disagree.

Here is what I have to say about this topic:

Socrates’ point was not make people feel foolish. If it were, he would not have had so many followers. No one is going to love a person who makes them feel stupid all the time.

Dialectic thinking and arguments are not about making people… feel stupid, it is a method designed to help you form your own understanding of what the truth is or may be.

If more people would think dialectically – it WOULD be a better world. Unfortunately, that is not the case. too many people are willing to let others do their thinking for them – leaving those people vulnerable and exploitable. And this is truly sad.

Socrates had won the hearts of the youth in Athens. Some of those young people chose to revolt and nearly succeeded in overthrowing the government.

Instead of punishing the youth (who belonged to many aristocratic families) they decided to punish Socrates (who in no way encouraged people to overthrow the government -as far as I can tell).

He was faced with an opportunity to exile himself – which he turned down – they then decided that he had no choice but to drink a cup with hemlock in it.

Obviously, he died. it wasn’t right.

You see, this same story keeps happening over and over again to those who try to open the eyes of others. This is the world that we live in and in this respect it hasn’t changed much in thousands of years. Human nature does not seem to change much! This is the problem!

I’m sure you can think of some examples for yourself. Some are ‘sacred’ examples.

Some are similar to the Assange story with Wikileaks. Opening peoples’ minds often leads to incarceration, persecution and obviously death.

Nothing has changed much from 2 or 3 thousand years ago has it?

No Peace On Earth…

December 6, 2011 by Dave

Many people wonder if there will ever be peace on Earth.

The problem is the human heart.  Unless that changes there cannot be peace on Earth.

We dwell amongst the lowest common denominators.

Only as individuals can we rise above.

This requires work, effort and sacrifice.

Consider reading the book Zhuan Falun by Li Hongzhi

Human Nature and A Cold Heart…

November 4, 2011 by Dave

I have to share with you an experience I had today. It shows that I just don’t meet the standard!

I walked outside on my way to go to the store.

Not far from my home, there was a man standing there holding an empty oil can. His girlfriend was in the car and it seemed like a ‘strange’ situation.

As a typical human, it didn’t cross my mind that I should offer assistance.

The man asked me if there was a gas station nearby. I pointed the opposite way that I was walking and told him that there was one a few blocks away.

He asked me, “Do you happen to be driving that way?” Without even thinking about it, I said, “No, I’m walking the other way.”

It wasn’t until I was down the street that I realized that I could just have easily helped him with a ride to the gas station! My car was very close by, it would have been a simple thing!

How sad that my first thought was NOT about helping another person, only that I shouldn’t be bothered as I am going about my own business.

How could I be so callus? This shows how cold my heart is.

I think that many of us are this way after a lifetime of dealing with people and situations where others would use us or take advantage in one way or another.

A lifetime of those scars causes the situation where my first thought is no longer about others, but really about helping myself get what I need done as quickly and effortlessly as possible. Efficient, but not friendly.

How sad for me, that I missed an opportunity to help another human being out.

I was gone for at least half-an-hour and when I returned, he was just then filling his tank with a gas can that someone with a truly helping heart had apparently lent him or perhaps he bought it at the gas station.

I do not know for sure. But, I do know that I could have been a lot more helpful than just pointing someone in the direction of the nearest gas station.

How sad for me. A lifetime of learning to protect myself and my self-interests has led to this becoming a habit, without a second thought!

Am I bad person? In this instance, perhaps I was!

I wish I had done better with this situation. You can read the book Zhuan Falun. It teaches REAL spiritual principles. Maybe one day, it will sink in for me. I’ve gone the wrong way. I hope I can do better in the future!

People are Funny Creatures…

November 16, 2009 by Dave

Have you ever had the distinct notion that people really do not know what they want or even what they are looking for? I believe this to be true because you can find someone who states that they want a solution to something. You offer them the perfect solution and yet they are not interested.

Next, you see this person get something that you know for sure is not going to help them solve the problem they stated to you. It is really interesting.

You try to help someone and they turn down that help and go in a direction that you know will not help them. Some people have to learn the hard way, I guess. In fact, it seems that most people have to learn the hard way.

It is also insulting when people don’t trust you enough to take your advice. But, that is life. Everyone, is living in a world of confusion. If they knew the perfect answer for themselves, they wouldn’t be looking for any answers.

This shows how incredibly ignorant human kind is. I am not singling anyone out here. I am including myself. So do not think that I am talking directly to you. I really mean all of us that are human.

Take the topic of gum disease for example. It is an important problem that many people have. Yet, most people are not aware that they even have gum disease. They will not believe you even if you tell them.

However, the statistics that dental care professionals share with us indicate that up to 80% of people have gum disease right now. You can talk to people until you are blue in the face about this problem, but they still won’t believe they have it or that they should do anything about it.

It is kind of like bad breath. Many people have it, but they don’t seem to realize that they have it. They get use to their own breath.

We live in a strange world.

Spirituality Is Important – Make Sure YOU Choose the Right Path for You!

April 20, 2009 by Dave

Here is what a friend wrote to me recently and before I share it with you, let me say that I believe that if you are seeking answers at all – you should consider Falun Dafa at www.FalunDafa.org

Now, this is what my friend wrote who is unaware of how spiritually enriched my life is:

“Dear Dave: i Know your busy. But i know you are aware of alot. Many years ago, when i started reading the writers often steered me at looking at different things. This brought me to rationalize my surroundings. I don’t think there is any thing static, and i’m aware of other areas that we are connected . I read the Hundreth monkey, And jonathan livingston seagul. Today i think we are subject to much control, and programming, but not alway’s at the sphere we operate in. to be concious is to know the Earths Changing people are changing, But we should be separate, and be true to our ownselves. To observe, but not be contained that we are alway’s in- a- box, and not own ourselves. This hasan’t anything to do with ego,but it can either make true individuals out of us/ or a mass conciousness that we are slaves. There are many options, and many avenues, but raise up in conciousness, to steer from hidden spin that steals the rudder of many a ship, and that ship is individuality of the true Human self.!”

Again, I think you would be best off to study Falun Dafa above any other ‘spiritual’ or ‘religious’ path. Falun Dafa is not a religion but it is the most spiritual practice there is – it is both practical and spiritual and I can affirm for you that Falun Dafa is very real – it is the REAL deal.

Am I Being Targeted? If so, Should I Worry About it?

February 13, 2009 by Dave

Just to give you a little background: About 7 years ago, I went to Beijing’s Tiananmen Square to protest the human rights violations against the peaceful Falun Gong – who are being persecuted brutally by the Chinese Communist Party.

They said they weren’t arresting us – there were about 70 of us from various western countries. But, they held us against our will. Some were beaten. They told us that they would not allow us to talk to our embassies – which is a violation of International Law. So, it sure felt like being arrested. But on the other hand, what they did was illegal because their is nothing in the Chinese Constitution that says you can’t protest human rights violations.

But this is how the Chinese Communist Party Rolls.

So anyway, I have occasionally twittered out the address: https://ninecommentaries.com on twitter.

Well today, I get a phone call from a strange sounding Chinese guy who says he is from the State of Kansas, where I live. What was strange is that his number showed up as 000-000-0000 on my cell phone.

He sounded like he was from some government office and wanted to verify the address of my business. I did so.

I thought he was an official from Kansas, but then I saw the number.

I asked him who he was and he pretended that he couldn’t hear me, “sir”, “sir” he said – and then the phone went dead.

Well, I’m no stranger to this kind of thing. In fact, most Falun Gong practitioners that have been active against the persecution get calls like this.

First, my statement to the Chinese agents who will inevitably read this: Your time will not last. Your crimes are being recorded and when the time comes you will be tried in International Courts just like the Nazis were.

You think you are documenting us, but we are documenting you and your criminal activities. So, I guess your best bet is to quit the CCP and go back to a normal life and hope that you are not remembered when the time comes to start prosecuting the Communist party members one by one….

Now that I got that off my chest. My question to the others who read this is: What do you think I should do about today’s event and how do you feel about what happened? How do you feel about communist agents harassing people outside of their own borders or within their own borders for that matter: you can read about their crimes at https://faluninfo.net

megaphoneI have two announcements to make right now.

One is that you can now follow me on Twitter.

My twitter address is:

The second item I want to tell you about is that I wrote a little bit about why my book, What You Should Know about Gum Disease is important – and it is important. It’s importance goes far beyond the superficial notion of gum disease itself.

This is a book that touches on our human existence and on issues that are close to our very souls – whether we understand that or not….

Here is the address to the post:

What is the True Meaning of Life?

December 19, 2008 by Dave

question-markWhat is the true meaning of life? Oh, this question is always on your mind, even if you don’t admit it to yourself. It comes up at night when you are trying to go to sleep. It often takes the form of a feeling. You know the one: ‘Things are not quite right.’ This is one of the forms it takes when you try to shun the question from your conscious mind.

“Things are not quite right.” Do you know why you feel that way?

Few people do. You see, we have been erroneously taught that humans are at the top of the evolutionary chain. We might be at the top of the creature chain, but have you ever stopped to consider that there is higher evolution?

That is what that feeling, that question is about. It is a deep ingrained purpose to evolve. You’ll never completely escape it because your evolution has a long way to go.

Maybe you have reached the pinnacle of the animal evolutionary chain, the physical, but what is beyond that? What if it were something you couldn’t see, touch, taste or feel. Does that mean it is not there?

Is the next evolutionary stage something that happens in your mind, your heart, and / or your soul? Of course it is, where else would the next stage happen?

Why do you value the work of certain authors? It is very simple, their words create a small breakthrough, a window if you will, into another place. The author himself may not have evolved that fully, but he has the talent to touch those places, even if he doesn’t know what he is touching.

Man I’m bummed about this!

November 24, 2008 by Dave

Well, looks like the communists in China are at it again. First they torture the husband to death and now they want to put the wife in prison for a lifetime.

This is so sickening. I have no idea why the Chinese government cannot respect the peaceful spiritual beliefs of their population. Why does the Commie gov have to do evil all of the time?

There are good people out there in the world – all they want to do is meditate or read a book and here you have the chinese government doing bad things to them. What for? It makes no sense at all.
