Twas The Night Before Christmas and All Through The House
I remember when I was little, I nearly memorized this whole thing and I would go around repeating it over and over again.
Decades later, I have found it again. I decided to do my own reading and post it to youtube. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below:
The story captured the imagination of millions over the years. It was written by Clemens C. Moore in the 1800’s and the copyright is from 1912, putting this awesome work squarely in the public domain.
It is such a wonderful story, I remember it well. I had a blue colored book with this story in it as I child. It captures the story of Santa Clause or St. Nicholas the man who delivers toys and gifts to children all over the world on Christmas Eve.
I remember leaving cookies for Santa as I am sure many people who read this will also remember. As a child, I really thought I could smell Santa’s pipe in the middle of the night. Perhaps I really did?
I do not know why Moore’s work captured my attention so well as a child. But I do know that I am not alone. His little story, which was originally written only for his own children became a great hit.
Santa was a big part of Christmas every year. It’s just wonderful when they track Santa every year on RADAR, flying down from the North Pole to deliver his gifts to the children.
The eleves must be busy all year long making those toys.
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer is another good Christmas story as is Frosty the Snowman.
Childhood memories are part of what makes Christmas time the best time of the year for many people.
It’s wonderful to have such a great tradition that is passed down from generation to generation, isn’t it?
