Man Dies and Leaves Behind 7 Million in Gold…
I recently read a story about a man who died at the age of 69 in his home. He was a recluse and it was discovered that he had about 7 million dollars worth of gold in various forms in his house.
This story illustrates what hording gold is.
He only had 200 in his bank account.
Very interesting, isn’t it.
Wondering What Happened To The Gold?
So, the IRS took approximately 750,000 for themselves. Allegedly the rest will go to a cousin – but has not gone to him yet.
It will be interesting to learn if that cousin ever does see any of it.
When you get into probate, things can become problematic and large amounts of a person’s estate can ‘disappear’ in lawyers’ ‘fees’.
So, how much will this cousin ever see?
Life Is Short
I think it would be interesting to point out that life on this planet is short. That man was only 69 when he died.
When he was born into this world, he came without any gold and he also left without any. That gold stayed behind!
From this we want to ask, what is the purpose of this life?
Is it really important to accumulate a lot of wealth? Or is it more important to advance yourself spiritually.
I hold that the latter is true. The book Zhuan Falun, by Li Hongzhi can shed a lot of insight into why we are here and what we should be doing with our time. You can get a free copy at falundafa.org
The Dilemma
Money and wealth are interesting topics. Along with these topics come investing and having your money or wealth grow.
With the rise in Gold in the last decade it could be argued that this guy at the perfect investment. And he stored it himself in his garage.
The best defense of that gold was the fact that no one knew that he had it!
He lived in a modest house that the article said is being sold for 105,000 dollars.
What Will You Do With Your Gold?
I’d like to ask you what you would do if you suddenly came to possess 5 million in gold or any currency of your choice.
Would you spend it all? Would you invest it? Would you give it away? Would you donate some to charity?
Or would you hord your wealth and never touch it until you pass from this world?
