There have been a number of cases in years gone by of companies coming under attack and being threatened by a certain government agency.
However, it appears that most of this cases were resolved without too much destruction.
The most important thing to remember when promoting natural remedies is to make sure that you do not make any outrageous health claims and NEVER use the word “Cure”.
It’s always a good idea to have a good disclaimer as well that asserts that you are not offering medical advice and that if a person has any questions about their own situation, they must seek counsel from their own doctor.
A Case To Remember
There is a relatively ‘famous’ marketer out there who got into all kinds of trouble selling natural remedies. I remember reading some of the court documents out there on the guy.
I can’t remember what he was doing specifically, but he was charged and he signed an agreement to never sell any type of health supplement again. He also agreed to never help or consult with any companies that did.
He would be in violation of his agreement if he did so.
I’m not entirely sure if his issue had to do with outrageous claims or repetitive billing.
In any event, never make claims about health care products unless it is a claim that is widely accepted as being true.
The more you step out on a limb, the more you are at risk of getting into hot water when selling natural remedies.
Let The Seller Beware
There is that saying, “Let the buyer beware”. But in the realm of natural health products, it should be: “Let the Seller beware”.
