Check out the US. National Debt Clock. They say America goes further into debt by 2.8 Billion everyday.
The numbers quoted are huge!
Here is an interesting web page about getting America out of debt. Of course if you look at the date on it, you realize it is old news.
I guess we can assume that this was not in the best interest to the powers that reap the most benefit from what happens on the political / big business front.
I can further assume that it still isn’t in the best interest on the political or business front for America to get out of debt, or we would be trying. Do you agree?
I’m not trying to change anything about the world with this post. I’m just a little bit curious about what has been happening and what is going to happen in / to America.
There has been a lot of talk in the news lately about America’s debt. Apparently the war in Iraq has cost us about a 1/2 Trillion dollars so far.
Interesting, because I could get by the rest of my life on about 2 million or so. But they aren’t giving that to me and I’m currently stuck being an American tax payer.
It seems a little unfair that I get to help pay for the 1/2 Trillion dollar debt for the Iraq war, but my own government won’t give me 2 million just for being, um… American.
My father told me that the American taxpayer supports the whole world. Seems like there is some truth to that.
But seriously, are there any experts out there that can tell us what is going on with the national debt and just how dangerous it really is? Some people may try to make a name for themselves over this issue. We aren’t interested in opinions based on that motivation.
We want to hear from someone that can shed some honest light on the subject.
How serious is the situation? Is it really important for America to get out of debt? Or, is the national debt some type of number game that doesn’t really mean anything in the long run?
comment below and thanks in advance.
