Smile Welcome Lost Angel

Though I personally don't have herpes. I had a girlfriend that did.
She was very nervous about telling me.

Fortunately, I understood more than most bfs would. She said out of 5 people she had told previously, 4 had rejected her based solely on the fact that she had herpes.

The good news is that she is responsible and tells people before becoming sexually active with the person.

And there is good reason. Many people would contract herpes after sleeping with someone with herpes for a period of time. Even if they only have sex when there is no outbreak.

I purchased a book called, Never an Outbreak - but it took time to arrive in the mail.

Another option is a book called "Stop Herpes Now - And from Coming Back for Good" - you can download that one. The good news is, you could be reading it just a few minutes from now.

you can talk about anything here, lostangel. I want you to know that you are not alone.

Hopefully more people will join in and talk and share their experiences with herpes as well.

Cool Hi Max - sorry to hear about this story

Hey Max,

Though it is possible that she got it from another source (other than sexual activity) it is not very probable.

I'm sad to hear your story.

Here is a post I put on another site: What is Herpes?

Here is a book that you might find to have useful information:

Stop Herpes Now and Prevent it From Coming Back

There is another book you can get called "Never an Outbreak"
Take a look on amazon.com for that one.

You can contract herpes from your wife even with strict protection. But if eight years go by and you still don't get it, you may be one of those rare individuals that doesn't develop active lesions.

Science tell us that there is also a risk that you will become a carrier of the virus.

Check with your doctor for more details and to get diagnosis and treatment.

I dont personally have herpes, but I think this forum could cause people to believe that it is much more than it really is. Even if you do contract it, it's not the end of the world - it's just a few blisters which can be treated with a special cream and few people go on to have bad attacks once they initially contract it. It also has nothing to do with sleeping around, it just means you have slept with one person (perhaps a long term partner) who hasnt been honest enough to say that they had it - and who would if they felt rejection was on the cards. An interesting fact you may not know is that 60% of people have this virus - and it's only a few people who either realise or actually show physical signs. Therefore, people who dont have it our actually in the minority.

Default Herpes is Serious

Actually, of that 60% it is difficult to tell how many have genital herpes. If you want to say that 6 out of 10 people have genital herpes, I'd have to say that isn't true. If you are including cold sores in your total and other varieties of herpes, of which there are many, then the 60% figure could be true. However, I do not believe that 60% of the population has genital herpes.

That's the problem with statistics, they can be misleading if one doesn't understand all of the nuances relating to them.

Here are some more herpes resources. I'm of the opinion that there are many things that modern medical science doesn't understand.

Stop Herpes Now, And From Coming Back [AFF] - Information from a Naturopathic Doctor - David Hogg, ND. Dr. Hogg discusses the foods that can help prevent outbreaks and foods that facilitate outbreaks. He also talks about herbs that may be useful.

Controlling Herpes Naturally [AFF] - A book that discusses diet and lifestyle changes and how it relates to herpes outbreaks. It also talks about boosting the immune system and the latest holistic approaches to combating a herpes infection.

Live Herpes Free [AFF] - J.J. Currie discuses reclaiming your life from the herpes virus. Herpes can really change the way you live and this author talks about overcoming not only the tangential issues of living with herpes but also conquering the physical virus itself.

Get Rid of Herpes [AFF] - Herpes Wise is a book by Nathalie Foy. She claims to have her herpes completely under control and says that she can show others how to do the same thing.

hi lost angel...whether you are male or female, 18 or 73...it can be tough (shock!) to adjust to the discomfort (physical and emotional)...and to now have the responsibility to advise ANY potential sexual partner...i recently joined a herpes support group...i waited 20 years to join the group...my point is: find a support group in your area quickly...your doctor may know one...it's the best understanding and positive results i have had in 22 years...M

Hi everyone, I'm not even sure if I should be here but I was wondering if someone with genetal herpes can help. Over a week ago I noticed a single pimple-like bump on the shaft of my penis. It doesn't hurt or itch. Doesnt appear to have pus inside. And hasn't opened up into any sores. I was wondering how long does it take a bump to turn into sores if it is herpes? I really hope its not but please tell me what you think? I guess at this point I'm too embar***ed to go to a doctor and its been there over a week. No changes has occured. Thanks.
