Toosinbeymen: I hear you. My father told me the same thing about the Japanese toys being considered junk. Now, they arguably make better cars than us.

It would be cool if we got back to the manufacturing days. We also should be back on the gold standard. But, as you mentioned - we are ‘too far gone’ .

My question to you would be: What is going to happen with all of this?

Obama’s stimulus is a noble attempt but way too little and it needs to reverse the trade policy that started with Reagan. They call that protectionist but it was then called protecting jobs. I’m afraid we’re way too far gone to be brought back to sensibility easily.
