Hi Lucy, if you take the payment plan, depending on which you take - you will only get paid in payments. Because my commission will not be paid upfront either. Each month, when I get paid, you will receive a payment until the designated amount is reached. I suggest that you pay the full amount up front as it will be cheaper for you than paying the extra money for the payment plan.

Thanks!

Mark, I have heard that it might go as high as 10K per ounce. But it may take another ten years to get there.

Toosinbeymen: I hear you. My father told me the same thing about the Japanese toys being considered junk. Now, they arguably make better cars than us.

It would be cool if we got back to the manufacturing days. We also should be back on the gold standard. But, as you mentioned - we are 'too far gone' .

My question to you would be: What is going to happen with all of this?

Ugh. I wish I could say I disagree. I think that we've dug ourselves so deeply down that most of us don't remember when we used to manufacture things for ourselves. In those days, seeing that something was made in Japan meant it was most likely crap. I used to carpool with an older man that worked on the shop floor running a lathe. He made enough money to buy his own home and had a few nice cars. His work and nearly all like it is offshore now.

Obama's stimulus is a noble attempt but way too little and it needs to reverse the trade policy that started with Reagan. They call that protectionist but it was then called protecting jobs. I'm afraid we're way too far gone to be brought back to sensibility easily.

Hey Jan,

This really underscores the point that your boss makes all of the difference. A bad boss can ruin a perfectly good job. Thanks for sharing this.

When I started in field sales, I had a great boss. He gave me total autonomy for my own results, and always believed that I could succeed.

Every week when we had meetings, he praised my good work and helped me to improve in weaker areas. In four years he never once made me feel anything other than amazing. Because of his faith and trust in me, I was top salesperson week in week out, and was happier than I could imagine. Working for him never felt like work.

When he left, my next boss was highly critical, didn't praise good work and made the whole team feel rubbish. I left within months of him starting, feeling demoralised and beaten!
