Oh, lord. You're miffed because you think people are too ignorant to follow your advice?! You really need to get off your high horse. The truth is, people want somebody to talk to about their problems more than they want to sit their and listen to some know-it-all dole out platitudes. It's therapeutic. They're not looking for an answer. They are looking for someone who will just listen and understand what they are going through. That is often enough of "solution" for them to stop whining and continue to grin 'n' bear it. Some of the times where I helped someone the most was when I didn't give advice. I just listened and acknowledged. I dare you to try it.
