When thinking of the Palestine – Israeli conflict I often think how ironic it is to imagine that Israelis and Palestinians might reincarnate as each other.
For example, a young palestinian freedom fighter or terrorist (because one side’s freedom fighter is another side’s terrorist) hates and kills a lot of Israeli Jews in his liftime.
Then he is killed by the IDF.
He then reincarnates as an Israeli and grows up in that culture, learning to hate and fear the Palestinian terrorists. Maybe he grows up to be an IDF soldier, spending his time fighting and killing Palestinians – possibly even some he was formerly related too.
Imagine this cycle continuing over and over again, lifetime after lifetime. The irony of becoming exactly the kind of person that you formerly hated and despised leads to some very interesting thoughts.
Is there a cosmic justice system that operates very similar to what I described above?
It sure would put a new slant on world peace. Can you imagine Hezbollah reincarnating as Israelis and vice versa?
Wouldn’t it just seem too poetically just?
Don’t believe in reincarnation? You should. There is actually plenty of evidence supporting it. Much research has been done and you can find books about it on amazon or you can look at the Near-Death.com site ( a site devoted to near-death experiences)
Though perhaps circumstancial or subjective (who could prove reincarnation beyond a doubt?) evidence, it is overwhelming in the sheer volume of documentation.
So if reincarnation is real and the cycle does repeat itself as described above, doesn’t human conflict then seem silly, trite and rediculous.
We are all human beings after all. The mere idea that it might be true that we become our former enemy in the future or that we suffer the same way we made others suffer in our next life should be enough to make one stop and ponder.
It might even be enough to make one start to live one’s life differently.
Another good book that I enjoy reading is Zhuan Falun by Li, Hongzhi. Check it out. It might just alter the way you see the world and bring a little more Truth, Compassion and Tolerance into your life and the lives of others in practical, real terms. (not idealistic, philosophical meanderings that lead nowhere.)
Anyway, it seems likely that Hezbollah, Palestinians and Israelis will not stop fighting each other anytime soon. But if there were a shift in thinking, maybe it would be possible. After all, nothing else seems to be working to bring peace to the Middle East.
